Toronto — A Canadian gun manufacturer’s shooting range is opening its doors to first-time customers this week, a first for a gunmaker in the U.S. and Canada.
The Ontario-based company, Canadian Outdoor Brands (COB), is leasing the former Gun Shop on Spadina Avenue for a year and plans to expand the range to more locations in the coming months, according to a release Tuesday.COB also announced it has partnered with the Canadian Shooting Sports Association to bring the shooting range to Toronto, which is one of the city’s most popular shooting spots.
“We are excited to partner with the Ontario Shooting Sports Associations to bring COB’s Shooting Range to Toronto,” said Rob Schulz, the president and CEO of COB, in a release.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our customers to our indoor and outdoor shooting venues and we look forward to working with the shooting community and shooting sports organization to continue our commitment to providing quality, affordable and fun shooting experiences for all.”
The range will open at the end of April, with the first day of classes set for April 26, the release said.
“It’s exciting to be opening up to the public in a new location that allows us to provide a wide range of training, as well as a safe, comfortable environment for shooting and shooting training,” said Jason Dvorak, co-founder and president of COBs Shooting Range.
“This is a great opportunity to provide our customers with a quality training experience at the right location.”
The first class will start at 8 a.m. and run until 9 p.m., with a 10-minute break between classes.
Classes will be held indoors and outdoor.COBs Shooting range has about 50 indoor and 150 outdoor shooting ranges, according the release.
