Posted November 06, 2019 07:16:37 A woman who used to cook meals at home, but now relies on the freezer for a few items, is calling on the federal government to step in and help her save money by switching to non-stick cooking oil.
The woman, who does not want to be identified, is an accountant and says she was forced to take on the burden of the household for three months, after her kitchen sink broke down.
“I am using the freezer to cook some food for me and I am getting quite a bit of extra income for it, and I do not have any savings,” she said.
“So I think that is really important for us to get some sort of a federal response.”
Non-stick oil is an oil that is generally used in cooking and other household activities, but it is not recommended for home use.
“It is so expensive, especially if you have an old stove and you want to go back to your old stove.
So I don’t think it is worth it,” she explained.”
And the freezer itself is quite heavy, so I think you should think about whether or not you can just use something else.”
That would save me about $100.””
So you just go into the kitchen and start cooking and you can start cooking more.
“She is calling for the Federal Government to provide the money to buy non-sticks, and says there are several online stores that sell cooking oil for just $0.50 a can.”
We would need the help of the Federal Department of Agriculture, if you will, to get these things,” she added.”
If you go into your local supermarket and they have a product that you can buy for about $0, $1, $2 and it is just about making money off of it.
“Ms Fonseca said the average price for a can of cooking oil was $0 with some suppliers even discounting the price to $0 and $1.
Food prices have been on a sharp rise in recent years, and Ms Fonresca says the problem is the increased reliance on energy, food waste and the fact that it is being sold at the low cost of $0 to $1 a can instead of $1 to $2.
She said she has seen other people who were unable to afford food in the past, who are now facing similar problems.”
A lot of times they will have an extra $300 a month in the bank for food because they just cannot afford to feed their family anymore,” she recalled.”
The only thing they can afford is a fridge that is not really worth much.
